Cornerstone Community FCU Announces End of Strike
by OPEIU Local 212 Employees
LOCKPORT, N.Y. (August 26, 2008) – Representatives for Cornerstone Community Federal Credit Union (FCU) and Local 212 of the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) are pleased to announce that both parties have agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement, effective immediately.
Employees voted late Monday to ratify the new agreement reached by negotiators, and they will return to work on Wednesday, August 27. Terms of the new contract, which runs through November 2011, were not disclosed.
“The union workers are looking forward to returning to work to provide the quality service credit union members have come to expect,” said Deana Fox, Union Representative for OPEIU Local 212.
The main Cornerstone facility on South Transit Road in Lockport and the branch office on State Street in Middleport are open today (Tuesday, August 26) during regularly scheduled business hours, while the Stevens Street branch in Lockport will re-open at
9 a.m. on Wednesday.
